I went to my first bead weaving lesson 5 years ago in San Carlos Mexico because I wanted to meet other Americans. I left with a tangled mess but I was determed to finish the bracelet. That evening when I was wearing my finished treasure I was hooked on beading! I have had no formal training in the arts. I continue to take lessons when we winter in Mexico, attend classes offered by the Portland Bead Society and try every new stitch I can find in books and magazines.
I love this art form, the feel, color & texture of the beads and beaded jewelry. I search Art Fairs, Gem Shows, Rock & Mineral Shows & Bead Shows for unusual material to use for unusual jewelry. It is so exciting to find a stone slab or lampwork bead and just know exactly how I want the piece of jewelry to look. I have never found a bead I didn’t like and everything goes with purple!

Because I use different bead weaving techniques, most of my pieces are one of a kind. I take pride in the uniqueness of my jewelry.
