I am an art jewelry maker. I find beauty and inspiration in nature and I weave it into my designs. I think that leaves are beautiful… and bark, seeds, flower petals… they’re all unique and valuable.
I am also an avid bike tourist. Which may seem like an odd combination, but I’ve found that the two mix quite well. Exploring the world slowly allows
me to see the beauty that nature has to offer, while giving my mind the space to dream up new designs.
My jewelry is a mix of our industrial landscape and all that nature has to offer – a sort of exploration of the world around me. Hard metal meets real leaves in a simple and modern aesthetic.
My favorite materials to work with are ones that are all around us and which we often forget to see – seeds, leaves, bark, flowers. In elevating a leaf to a place of honor in a piece of jewelry, I get to point out the inherent beauty in nature and explore the ways we view our environment.
Using traditional metalsmithing techniques, all of my jewelry is crafted with 100% recycled sterling silver. Working with natural materials, however, is decidedly non-traditional, which adds an element of adventure to each piece I make.
