Fused glass artists Katie and Farhad Nooshazar hand create the Studio 305 Collection of finely crafted dichroic glass jewelry. Farhad and Katie have been making jewelry for over 15 years.

We began as Portland Saturday Market artists. In 1997 we opened Botticelli’s gallery. Located in the heart of downtown Corvallis, Botticelli’s features not only our Studio 305 collection, but the work of hundreds of other Northwest artists as well.

We work primarily with dichroic glass. We love the way it captures and dances with light. It is bold yet delicate, precise but fluid.

Our jewelry is noted for our cold work. We spend hours grinding each piece, not only for design but also for weight. This sets our work apart from others…it is a painstaking process but the end result invites the wearer to join the dance!

Each piece of jewelry is fired in a glass kiln at temperatures of 1500 to 1800 degrees. We handcut as many as 15 to 20 pieces of glass, layering them to create unique designs before carefully fusing and annealing them to ensure durability, longevity, and style. We do not use pattern bars or mass produce our work. Instead, each piece is individually designed, carefully handcut, and then hand assembled. They are painstakingly ground to ensure perfect shapes. Many pieces require as many as three firings and multiple grindings by hand before they are ready for findings to be added. This is a time-consuming process but the results are dazzling.

Almost all of our jewelry features dichroic glass. It is particularly exciting and difficult to work with as it adds dazzling color and great depth to each piece. Dichroic glass captures and reflects light, often looking different depending on the background on which it is placed. It has both a transmitted color and a reflected color which gives it its vibrant quality but also makes it very difficult to photograph effectively.

Only the best quality of findings are used in our jewelry. All bails, chains, and earwires are either sterling silver or fine silver.
