I have been painting for about 5 years-and I have been retired from a regular full time job in administration with the Government for 4 years. I started painting the one-stroke method as a hobby but it has now turned into a part time business. I love doing the special orders for my cutomers, which not only includes special accessories but also custom wall borders. I also attend some Christmas shows and summer events. As a vendor, I like those too, because I have met the most wonderful people. I find when I paint, it brings me peace and it is rewarding to my soul. What inspires me is what I see-I can look at a vase or other and just “picture” a theme on it.
The technique I use is called “one Stroke” created by Donna Dewberry-she is a wonderful teacher and I have taken two certifications from her. We use folk-art acrylics and enamel paint-I have been painting for five years-I can paint on any surface virtually-and I like the things I can do with the seasons- Christmas time, my hand painted ornaments, Spring and Summer-flower pots,birdhouses,gazing balls,Fall-pumpkins real and snythetic, flags. I also have a specialty in my painting-my wedding gallery-I can paint on the bride’s accessories-namely the wine/toast glasses with her choice of flowers, colors,etc. also the wedding candle, photo/guest book cover along with names as well as the color scheme chosen for the event.
