Tuli Fisher is my name and I live in Bozeman Montana, where I have practiced blacksmithing for the past twelve years. I have specialized in making hand tools for the last six years, including tools for woodworkers, stone sculptors, jewelers, and ceramics artists. However, my all time favorite tools to create are garden tools.
Iron & Wood garden tools is a collection of high quality garden tools made from natural materials and crafted using only traditional techniques. Each tool is made by myself (Tuli Fisher) in Bozeman Montana.
I have specialized in forging hand tools for the past six years. The materials I work with (forged-iron and hardwoods) lend themselves especially well to the rugged use that garden tools are put through. The designs are simply traditional ones I have found to be most useful. I hand forge each tool with a hammer and anvil, and all the joinery work is done with solid hot rivets. Each hardwood handle is turned on a lathe and joined to the tool while the tool is red hot. I use a variety of woods including cherry, walnut, ash, and hickory, and then finish them with a penetrating Linseed oil or Tung oil finish.
