My Fall Festival Video

My Copper Tulip Video

One of my intentions for nwCraftfair.com is to make videos. I want to have videos from the artists posted on their Artist Statement Pages. I also want the fairs and festivals that are posted here to share videos of the event with the public.

I am just a beginner and I am learning on the fly. So, I want to share what I know with you, which may make it easier for you to create videos to post on nwCraftfair.com. Here is what I have learned about videos so far.

Equipment:

  • I have a nice digital camera I use for still shots. Most popular digital cameras do a great job. The photos you take for your video do not need to be of a real high resolution. If you use the medium or high quality setting on your camera your photos will view fine on the internet. Digital Cameras at B&H Photo
  • For video I use a very inexpensive video camera, it cost $99.00. Since my videos do not need to be of the highest quality it works fine. I am planning to invest in a higher quality camera soon.

  • Software:

  • I use Corel VideoStudio 12, there are many choices available. I chose Corel because I used Corel products in the sign shop and I am familiar with them. I also downloaded a free demo and it was user friendly for me.

  • I use the Adobe Suite for creating the title page, however this can be done in many programs. All you need to do is save your creation as a .jpg file and then place it into your video

  • Background Music:

  • I used emusic.com for background music. I pay a $ 5.00 a month fee for a limited number of downloads. I feel safer this way since I hate to abuse copyrights on music.

  • Promotion:

  • I use Tubemogle.com to post my videos. They will upload the video to multiple video sites all at once. It saves a lot of time. I learned that when the video sites search they first look to the title of our video. It is important to make your title work for you. For instance my videos will all start with “nwCraft -” and then the title of the video. My hope is that after the video finishes the related videos that pop up will also be mine. You can also put a link to a URL in the first line of the description so people who watch your video can take a direct link to whatever destination site you choose.

  • I hope some of this information is helpful. Making videos is fun and not all that hard. We at nwCraftfair.com would love have you post videos of your art on your very own Artist Statement Pages on the site.
